Free-Choice Project Reflection
1. I did a drawing for my free-choice of two people. I used a pencil and paper. It took me about 4 days.
2. I think I did a good job with the texture in the clothes because they stand out well.
3. I could've done a better job with the background because I do not like it and its still plain.
4. My theme or unity is closeness. The people are hugging to show this.
5. I focused on value and texture because they help the people stand out in the drawing.
6. The important pinciples i used are Contrast and Empasis. I think they are important in my drawing because the contrast helps to give it a 3-D look and there is emphasis in on the people.
7. I liked to have the freedom to pick what you want because you can chose something you know will look good. I learned that I like to paint and that I will do it more.
8. First I looked up ideas and I saw a picture similar to the one I drew. Then I drew the outline then I went back and put in detail and shading. Last I tried to do a background but it failed.
9. Everything was planned but the background. I had to put in a background and I didn't really have any ideas so I decided to use rain. A challeged I had was that I didnt know how to draw rain. I overcame this by drawing small raindrops and smuching them to make it look like they were falling.
10. I think this is a worthwhile project because I think it turned out well and it was a good way to finish off the year. The project I plan to do is a landscape painting with my grandpa this summer.
